Ida M. Crandall, 88, of Kalkaska, passed away on March 26, 2009 at her home. She was born on October 2, 1920 in Grand Rapids to the late Charles and Pearl (Matthews) Van.

Ida married Gordon Crandall and together they raised 5 wonderful children.

Ida has been a resident of Kalkaska for the past 33 years after moving from Rockford. She enjoyed nursing and caring for the elderly. Ida loved gardening, fishing, and spending time with her family.

Surviving Ida are her loving children, Kenneth Crandall of South Boardman, Shirley C. (Jack) Teesdale of Kalkaska, Rena (Bert) Hall of Kalkaska, Robert Crandall of Kalkaska, and Billy (Beverley) Crandall of Rockford; her dear brother, Raymond Van; and 52 precious grandchildren and great-grandchildren.

Ida was preceded in death by her parents; her husband; and her sister Mary French.

Visitation will be held on Thursday, March 26, 2009 from 5-9 p.m. at Wolfe-O'Neill Funeral Home. The funeral service will be on Friday at 4:00 p.m. at the funeral home with Pastor Scott Rhoades of Many Rivers Ministries officiating. Burial will be in Clearwater Township Cemetery.
