Funeral Services for Mrs. Mary Louise Carter, 80, of West Monroe, LA will be 10:30 AM Saturday, December 17, 2011 in the chapel of Mulhearn Funeral Home, West Monroe with Rev. Mark Fenn officiating. Interment will follow at Mulhearn Memorial Park Cemetery, Monroe.
Mrs. Carter was born May 15, 1931 and died December 14, 2011. She was a lifelong music lover who had a beautiful soprano voice and was a very active choir member at First Baptist Church, West Monroe. Mrs. Carter was very outgoing, fun loving and enjoyed being surrounded by family and friends. She enjoyed playing softball and bowling in her younger years. Mrs. Carter was a department store manager for twenty plus years. She is preceded in death by her parents, Zelma and Floyd Van Sr.; son, Raymond C. Perkins, Jr.; four brothers; and two sisters.
Survivors include: husband, Norman L. Carter; daughter, Gail James and husband Ron; son, Gary Perkins and wife Jackie; step-daughters, Claudia Crittendon and husband Bob, Jacquee Jerome and husband Bill, Carol Smith and husband Joe and Marsha Davis; grandchildren, Kimberly Wassan and husband Jason, Jennifer Bible and husband JR, Jessica Higgins, Jill White, and Ronnie James and wife Christy; numerous great-grandchildren; sisters, Nell Holder, Barbara Ray and Betty Wills; and brother, Wayne Van.
Visitation will be from 5:00 PM until 7:00 PM Friday, December 16, 2011 at Mulhearn Funeral Home, West Monroe.
Memorials may be made to the Alzheimer's Association.
