Former Matron of Home for Aged
Woman Dies in Preble Saturday

Mrs. Euretta V. Squire died at
her home in Preble, Saturday afternoon
at 2:15
Euretta Van Buskirk was born
in Preble, January 3, 1859 the
daughter of Robert H. and Juliette
Manchester Van Buskirk. She was
a life-long; resident of Preble. She
was twice married, her first husband,
Charles E. Briggs dying in
1888, and her second husband,
Hubert Squire dying in 1898. For
10 years she was matron of the
Home for Aged Women, last working
in that dapacity in 1904. She
was a life-long member of the
Preble Methodist Church, where
she was always active as long as
her health permitted.
Surviving are a granddaughter,
Genevieve Squire of Preble; one
brother, John Van Buskirk o f Cortland;
and a step son, Arthur P.
Squire of Rotterdam Junction.
Surviving are a granddaughter,
Genevieve Squire of Preble; one
brother, John Van Buskirk of Cortland;
and a step son, Arthur P.
Squire of Rotterdam Junction.
The funeral was conducted from
t h e late residence to Preble this
afternoon at I, with Rev. Malcolm
Rowe of the Methodist Church, officiating
Burial was made to
Preble. The bearers were: Alton
Greene, Frank Southwick. Edward
Turner and George Wright.
