Death of Mrs. Van Orsdale
It is with feelings of sincere sympathy and friendly condolence that we announce the sudden death of Emily L. Van Orsdale, wife of Lt. J. H. Van Orsdale, of the 7th infantry, who died at her father's residence at Fort Shaw, Thursday night, the 10th inst. Mrs. Van Orsdale was the daughter of Capt. William Logan, of the U. S. Army.
It is ever sad when death comes, but when it comes to break the tie between the bride and the groom, it is especially so, as in this case, for it is a scarce twelve months since this young couple passed through Helena on their wedding tour. So sudden and unexpected was the death of Mrs. Van Orsdale, that her husband was not aware of the sad event when he left here yesterday morning on a visit to his wife. The deceased was but 18 years of age, and lived a mother only a few days, but left a May blossom as a token of a wife's love and sacrifice.
