Eleanor, daughter of William Vanderbilt and Lea VanDuyn, married George Bercaw (later spelled Brokaw). Eleanor died 9 August 1833.

(Gettysburg Times 12/19/1960) Eleanor was the widow of Mr. George Bercaw, deceased 1813 of Strabane Township. Research shows her age was 74 years 1 month and 23 days.

The Bercaw/Brokaw family was part of the Dutch Reformed Conewago Colony in the 1700s.

From the Pennsylvania Archives, Vol III, copied & contributed by Alfred R. Justice (no date given) transcribed by Carolyn Leonard in 2008. Age by Justice is obviously wrong. The maiden name Vanderbilt contributed by FAG volunteer J S (#47535342).

From the original Conewago Dutch Reformed church records, "Jores Borkaa" and "Neeltie" Van-derbilt baptized their daughter Maria in 1787.

In 1793, George Brocaw and Nelly Vanderbilt baptized their son David on January 13, 1793 - named for her brother David Vanderbilt, also buried in this cemetery.
