Margaret H. Vanderbilt, the 3rd of four children born to Michael Field Vanderbilt (1786-1874) and Jane Berkaw Vanderbilt (1796-1875), is my friend Mary's 2nd g-grandaunt because she is the sister of John Henry Vanderbilt (1818-1889) -- her gg-grandfather.
Margaret married James E. Humphrey, of Lansingburgh, Rensselaer County, New York on October 30, 1844 in Lyons, New York at the age of 22.
Margaret and James had two children:
1) Eleanor W. "Ella" Humphrey Dreisbach; (1844-1922); and
2) Mary J. Humphrey (1849-1852)
Margaret died at the age of 68 in a place unknown at this time.
