The funeral service of Mrs. Lucretia Bryant were held at her residence on Pine street on Friday afternoon and was largely attended. Noticeable was the members of the Central W. C. T. U., who had come to bid farewell to their devoted sister, one of the oldest members of the union. Rev. J. Q. A. McDowell conducted the last sad rites and spoke feelingly of the true Christian character and faith of the deceased. One year ago New Year's day, while Mrs. Bryant was returning home from the annual reception of the W. C. T. U., she never recovered. She bore her suffering patiently and her her cheerful disposition endeared her to many friends. She loved her home, her church and the temperance cause, and when we meet this New Year's day we shall miss the presence of one who was loved and esteemed by all. Our tenderest expressions of sympathy is extended to the bereaved family in this dark hour with confidence in the words of him who have taken her away. “Lo, I am with you always, even unto the end."
