Mrs. Florence R. Clegg, prominent church worker of Chester for the past generation, died suddenly on Sunday night in the Crozer Hospital, after an illness of only two weeks. She was 58.
Mrs. Clegg, the wife of Harry L. Clegg, of 204 East Fourth street, was taken sick with grip and when complications set in was removed to the hospital, where she died at 11 o'clock Sunday evening.
She was born in this city, the daughter of the late William B. and Fanny M. Waite, was educated in the public schools and has remained here all her life, taking an active interest in all church work, and assuming office in several organizations connected with the First Baptist Church.
Besides her husband, three sisters survive. They are Mrs. Kendal Scott, Miss Clara B. Waite, a former school teacher, and Mrs. Lewis Rightmyer, all of Chester.
Funeral services will be held on Thursday afternoon from the home of her sister, Mrs. Righmyer, at 1222 Kerlin street, followed by services in the First Baptitst Church, with burial in Chester Rural cemetery.

Impressive funeral services were held Thursday afternoon for Mrs. Florence R. Clegg (nee Waite), wife of Harry L. Clegg, and for many years a prominent worker in the First Baptist Church of this city.
A brief service was conducted by the Rev. Nelson W. Rightmyer, her nephew, at the home of her sister, Mrs. Lewis F. Rightmyer, 1222 Kerlin street.
Services at the First Baptist-church, were in charge of the Rev. Louis J. Velte, the pastor, who was assisted by Mr. Richtmyer, with Mrs. Leroy Jefferis at the organ.
The interment was in Chester Rural cemetery. The pallbearers were Mrs. Clegg's nephews: William J. Scott, John O'Brien, Kendall T. Scott, Jr., George W. Rightmyer, Theodore Smith, Everett Scott.
Mrs. Clegg was very well known in Chester, and hundreds of sympathizing friends visited her sister's home on Wednesday evening.
