"ADESIA W. COX - Died Today at Home on West Eleventh Street
The past three weeks, Mrs. Adesia Cox, wife of Grover H. Cox, has been suffering from diabetes and to properly treat the disease, she was confined to her bed since Easter Sunday. Later a heart and lung complication set in causing her death at 7:50 o'clock this morning. Mrs. Adesia Weight Cox was a daughter of the late George W. and Mrs. Mary Weight. She was born at Ironsville, October 4, 1878 and resided in this vicinity all her life. On November 18, 1903, she was united in marriage with Grover H. Cox at Bellefonte, who with these brothers and sisters survive her death: Thomas, of Tyrone; Harry and Calvin, of Ironsville; Walter and Grant of Juniata; Mrs. Viola Gillman and Mrs. Harry Mingle of Tyrone. Francis Weight who has made his home with his aunt and uncle for a number of years, also survives. (Frances Waite, son of Slyvester Calvin & Susan Waite.) The parents, one brother and three sisters are dead.
Mrs. Cox was a member of the Ironsville Methodist church and when in health, attended divine services regularly. She was a woman of noble, christian character and was kind and charitable. When trials and tribulations perplexed and saddened those around her, she endeavored to comfort and cheer them and in that way helped to bear the burden of distress. Her life was lived according to the teaching of the Methodist faith and while her passing was a shock to her family and friends, she was ready for the eternal change that occurred today.
Funeral services will be held at the Cox home, 103 West Eleventh street Sunday afternoon at 2.30. Interment in Grandview cemetery. (Her tombstone is engraved 'ADESSA' rather than 'Adesia'.)"
