Mrs. J. F. Black Rites Wednesday

Mrs. J. F. Black, 79, of Honey Grove, died at Marcom Hospital, Ladonia, at 12:15 o'clock Tuesday afternoon, January 31, 1961, where she had been a patient and seriously ill for about a week.

Funeral services were held at 4:00 o'clock Wednesday afternoon, February 1, with the pastor, the Rev. Sam Rice and the Rev. Walter Sullens, pastor of the McKenzie Methodist Church as officiants. Robert West Funeral Home made interment in Oakwood Cemetery.

Named pallbearers were Martin Ohr, Jr., R. M. McCleary, Lester Cappleman, George Carlock, Jr., Wash Underwood, and Kenneth Rowton.

A native of Honey Grove, Mrs. Black was born June 24, 1881.

Her parents were B. O. Walcott and Martha Wilson Walcott.

She was married to J. Fletcher Black on November 6, 1901, and he preceded her in death in 1947.

Survivors include a sister, Mrs. Warren Jones of Dallas; six sons, Walcott Black and John Black of Honey Grove, O. K. Black of Ft. Worth, M. G. Black of San Antonio, James Black of Houston and Harry Black of Dallas; five grandchildren and four great-grandchildren.

Mrs. Black was a member of the Main Street Presbyterian Church.
