Mary Lynne Chapman was born on June 19th, 1943 in Yakima, Washington to Robert and Mary Lou Walker and lived there with her younger sister Sue. Lynn grew up attended primary school at Saint Paul and spent many of her early days ice skating with her family.

After moving to Seattle, Lynn attended Elementary School at Saint Margaret and Saint Alphonsus where she was a great student. She had a genuine love for children and spent much of her free time growing up as a babysitter for friends and neighbors. Lynn graduated from Bishop Blanchet in Seattle, with the class of 1961.

She loved dancing and frequently went square dancing throughout her high school years and eventually found her lifelong dancing partner Al at Zesto's Burger and Fish house in Ballard. When Al was visiting home on leave from the Army he proposed and they married two years later at St. Alphonsus Church in Ballard. Shortly after they were married, Al started working at Pioneer Reality often Lynn was at his side helping to update and organize files. In 1963 they created a family of their own with the birth of their first child Todd, Kym would follow in 1966 then Tom in 1970. While raising her children Lynn started a daycare in her home and over the years cared for many kids always making them feel cherished. She supported Al by preparing home cook meals for the family always putting her special touch making the house cozy and warm. Together Al and Lynn started an Amway business in 1970. She found it liberating and eventually created "Colors for you" to help other women with make-up and color coordinating outfits to "dress for success" and help others build self-convenience. With the help and many friends and family the business was a success and would be one of her passions for years to come.

What Lynn enjoyed the most was meeting new people and helping all the people she met along the way. Lynn was colorful and charismatic, she loved working in her beautiful garden, making family photo albums, reading and making memories with her friends, family, children, and grandchildren. She couldn't resist a good garage sale! She loved Roy Rodgers, Dale Evans, and Elvis Presley. One of her favorite thing to do was to watch old movies with her grandkids, the Sound of Music, Carousel and South Pacific. The family has many treasured memories of camping and fishing in Washington campgrounds and along the Oregon and California coasts. After they became grandparents many more fun times and memories were made at their Riverfront Chalet in Leavenworth and at vacation homes in Birch Bay and at Madeira Beach, in Florida.

Al and Lynn celebrated their 50th wedding anniversary this past January 6th and had been celebrating all year. They went on their "vacation of a lifetime" starting October 21st. They spent 2 weeks on a Viking River Cruise in Europe that went from Budapest to Amsterdam. Then they visited their grand-daughter, Danielle, in Lexington, Kentucky for one week, followed by 2-1/2 weeks at their retreat in Florida.

Lynn was preceded in death by her Mother, Mary Lou Walker, and Husband Alfred George Chapman. She is survived by her father Robert Walker, Sister Sue Gilman; three children, Todd, Kym, Tom, 9 grandchildren, Therese, Rachael, Peter, Danielle, David, Christina, Tyler, Walker, Trentyn and 2 great grandchildren, Alex and Sophia.

Al and Lynn were very active parishioners at St. Matthew Church, where their kids attended school. They served there together as Presidents of the Parent's Club. Lynn was a devout Catholic. She loved listening to Bishop Fulton Sheen and had a special love of Mary. She and Al prayed together daily before bedtime. They became members of St. Mark parish after they moved to Lake Forest Park. Lynn had a divine gift for helping others; she was a warmhearted and caring person who loved and trusted unconditionally. She always kept notes on how to help those she loved get through difficult times. It was her generous nature in times of need to give out a self-help book, audio tape, forward happy email, some vitamins, a special prayer book and an encouraging word of faith to help people though a rough time in their life. Lynn will always be remembered for those endearing God given qualities that have touched so many lives.

The Footprints of God
In deepest sleep one night I dreamed
That on the beach I walked.
God was by side each step
And quietly we talked.
Then on the sky my life was flashed;
The visions all serene.
Two sets of footprints in the sand
Were there in every scene.
But then I noticed in some scenes
For suffering, pain, and strife …
Just a single set of footprints
At the worst times of my life.
"God … you said you'd stay by me
In good times and in bad …
Why then did you leave me
Each time my life was sad?"
"My precious child," God answered,
"When your life had pain, I knew;
The single set of footprints
Were the times I carried you."
