Zoa Louise Maxwell went to be with the Lord March 25, 2012, surrounded by family.
She was born in Sligo, Mo., July 15, 1934, to Thomas V. and Rita J. (Chambers) Walker, moving to Sweet Home, Ore., in 1938.
Roni moved to the local area in 1948 where she began her career as a waitress, working in many local restaurants: The Rainbow, Paragon, Columbia Inn and Bart's. She moved to the Kent area about 1967.
In 1954 she married Marvin Stephenson in Kelso and had two children. They later divorced. In 1964 she married Donald Brown in Woodland and had one child, but raised two with him. He preceded her in death. In 1989 she married Kelly Maxwell in Auburn, Wash.
Roni is survived by her husband Kelly; four children, Robert (Charlene) Stephenson, Debra (Daniel) Fowler, Tania Brown and Donald Brown; a sister, Lucille Loux; two brothers, Robert and Melvin Walker; seven grandchildren, Rebecca Gorley, Katherine Fowler, Danielle Kynaston, John, Jason, Jennifer Stephenson, and Taira Brown; two stepgrandchildren; and 14 great-grandchildren.
She was preceded in death by her parents; her husband, Donald; a sister, Artis Isom; and two brothers, Thomas and William Walker.
A celebration of Roni's life is planned for 11 a.m. Saturday at Lakewood Baptist Temple, 10650 Military Road SW, Lakewood, WA 98498 with a potluck to follow. Private interment was held March 28 at Hillcrest Burial Park in Kent.
Arrangements were by Marlatt Funeral Home, Kent.
