Barbara A. (Petrocelli) Wallace, age 82, formerly of Dorchester, died peacefully, Thursday, February 27, 2014 at home, surrounded by her loving family.

Barbara was born in Boston, raised and educated in Dorchester schools and was a graduate of Saint Gregory's Elementary School and Saint Gregory's High School. She also was a graduate of Saint Elizabeth's Hospital School of Nursing. She has lived in Braintree for forty-four years and previously in Dorchester.

She was a homemaker and Registered Nurse. Barbara worked many years at the Beth Israel Hospital and also at the Carney Hospital. Later, she became a real estate agent and worked for several years at Century 21 in Canton. She has been retired many years.

Barbara loved the Boston Red Sox. She was devoted to her family and especially to her ten cherished grandchildren.

Beloved wife for fifty years of David J. Wallace. Devoted mother of Joseph F. Wallace and his wife Ruth Ann of Weymouth, Christopher M. Wallace and his wife Karen of Hanover, David J. Wallace, Jr. and his wife Joan of Weymouth, Mary E. Ridge and her husband Gerald of Braintree.

Loving grandmother of Elizabeth Wallace, Christopher and Kelly Wallace, Meredith, David, Andrea and Abigail Wallace, Gerald, Olivia and Conor Ridge.

Dear sister of Philip Petrocelli of Hull and Nicholas Petrocelli of Plymouth. Also survived by many nieces and nephews.

ARRANGEMENTS:
Funeral from the Sweeney Brothers Home for Funerals, 1 Independence Avenue, Quincy, Wednesday, March 5th at 9 a.m. Funeral Mass in the Church of Saint Clare, 1244 Liberty Street, Braintree at 10 o'clock. Relatives and friends are invited to attend. Visiting Hours at the funeral home Tuesday 4 – 8 p.m.

Interment Blue Hill Cemetery, Braintree.
