ASHTABULA — Lucille Arlinghaus Waltari, age 86, of Ashtabula, Ohio, died Friday, Dec. 16, 2011, at the Ashtabula County Medical Center.
Born March 24, 1925, in Ashtabula, she was the daughter of Lawrence and Irene (Passanen) Severino. On Dec. 25, 1945, Lucille married Walter Joseph Arlinghaus.
She was employed as a baker-dessert maker at Hil-Mak Seafood Restaurant in Ashtabula. She also worked for Comfort Keepers Home Care and for Schaefers and Son's Clothiers.
Her hobbies included cooking, baking, going to casino's, socializing at the American Legion and spending time with her great-granddaughter, Elsa and her dog, "Max." Lucille was a member of Our Lady of Peace Parish in Ashtabula, Women's Aux. of the V.F.W. 943 where she served as president and the American Legion Ladies Aux. post 103.
Survivors include her daughter, Karen (Lauri) Maki of North Kingsville; grandson, David (Amy) Maki of Concord Township; great-granddaughter, Elsa Maki; and companion, Dick Volkman of Ashtabula.
She was preceded in death by her parents; first husband, Walter Joseph Arlinghaus; second husband, Edmund Waltari; and a sister, Lorene Mostello.
Funeral Service will be 1:30 p.m., Monday, Dec. 19th, at GUERRIERO FUNERAL HOME, 1550 W. 19th St., Ashtabula, with Father Raymond Thomas, of Our Lady of Peace Parish, officiating. Entombment will follow in Greenlawn Memory Gardens.
Visitation will be from 2 to 4 p.m., Sunday, at the Funeral Home.
