Augusta Gaub, 78, 435 E Elm St., Lodi, died Tuesday evening in a local hospital following a long illness. She was a native of southern Russia and moved to the United States in 1911 with her family as a child. Mrs. Gaub's first U.S. homes were in Minnesota and North Dakota. She was married to the late Friedrich Gaub in 1916 in North Dakota where they lived until moving to Lodi in 1920. Gaub preceded his wife in death in 1950.
Mrs. Gaub was a member of St. Peter's Lutheran Church and of the church's senior Bible class.
Surviving are tow sons, Raymond of Hayward and Rueben of Rancho Cordova; two daughters, Mrs. Ida Marchese of Santa Cruz and Mrs. Agnes Guthrie of Lodi; a sister, Ernestine Schumacher of Appleton, Minn.; two brothers, Fred and Ernest, both of Minneapolis, Minn.; seven grandchildren and two great-grandchildren.
