Born in Manila, Ark., he was the son of the late Pled Lee and Beulah Ora (Irby) Walters. He was also preceded in death by one brother, Reginald Lee Walters.
He had been an area resident most of his life, was a farm laborer and a member of Trinity Baptist Church in Blytheville, Ark. Mr. Walters was also an avid fisherman.
Mr. Walters leaves two brothers: Melvin Walters and Robert Walters, both of Blytheville; Two sisters: Opal Wooldridge of Jefferson, Texas, and Brenda Sue Theriot of Houma, La.; Three nieces: Angie Walters of Alabama, Melissa Wooldridge of Oklahoma City, Okla., and Stacy Dea Wooldridge of Jefferson: One nephew, Mike Kell of Teriot, La.; and One great-niece and one great-nephew.
Graveside services for Mr. Walters were held at 2 p.m. Saturday, Sept. 4, 2004, at the Dogwood Cemetery in Blytheville with the Rev. Mike Welch officiating.
