Arkadelphia was born into the family of Thomas Jefferson Walters and Miss Nancy Skipper.

She married George Evans, and soon became pregnant. George had health issues, so they decided to move to Texas, hoping the climate would help with his health. George died soon after they arrived, and Arkadelphia moved back to Arkansas to live with her father, and deliver her firstborn son.

Arkadelphia married Robert Jackson Green in Arkansas County, Arkansas on 23 November 1893. Eleven children were born into this family unit.
