Carolyn Mae (Bailwitz) Watson, 77, of Bethel passed away with her husband at her side on Sunday, January 22, 2012 at the Village at Brookfield Common. She was born May 16, 1934 in Norwalk, CT daughter of the late Clayton and Julia (Szalai) Bailwitz. Carolyn and her husband of 55 years, Herbert raised their three sons in Bethel and lived there for more than 50 years. They enjoyed spending time with their family and friends and also enjoyed many activities together. She was a member of the Danbury Church of Christ for 30 years. The family would like to thank the staff at the Village at Brookfield Common and Regional Hospice of Western Connecticut for the loving care and kindness to Carolyn and her family throughout her courageous battle with Alzheimer's disease. Carolyn had many talents and skills. She was devoted to her family. In addition to her early career as an elementary teacher, a violinist, a nanny, a painter, rubber stamper she worked with the Visiting Nurse as a Home Health Aide, and was a homemaker and Cub Scout Den Mother. Besides her husband, Carolyn is survived by her sons: Richard Watson and his wife Laura of Stamford, CT, Kenneth Watson and his wife Nancy of Shalimar, FL, Jeffrey Watson and his wife Cory of Newtown, CT; her five grandchildren: Caitrin, Shawna, Taylor, Alexandra and Benjamin. In lieu of flowers, donations may be made in Carolyn's memory to Regional Hospice of Western Connecticut or the Alzheimer's Disease Research. There will be a Memorial Service, Saturday, February 4th at 11:00 AM at the Danbury Church of Christ, 90 Clapboard Ridge Rd., Danbury. A reception will follow the service at the Church. There are no calling hours. A private burial will be held at Willowbrook Cemetery in Westport. Hull Funeral Service, Danbury is handling arrangements.
