CALDWELL — Graveside services for Doris Sarah Apland, 82, San Luis Obispo, Calif., formerly of Caldwell, who died Thursday at home, will be conducted at 2 p.m. Monday in Hillcrest Memorial Gardens, Caldwell, by Pastor Larry Stomp of Faith Evangelical Lutheran Church, Caldwell, under the direction of Flahiff Funeral Chapel, Caldwell.
She was born Nov. 5, 1898, in Algona, Iowa, where she was reared and educated. She attended Drake University in Des Moines, Iowa. She married Joseph Elmer Apland on June 2, 1927, in Fort Dodge, Iowa. In 1940, they moved to Caldwell, where they farmed. Her husband died in July 1969. She moved to San Luis Obispo in 1977. She was a former member of the Caldwell American Legion and the World War I Barracks Women's Auxiliary, Caldwell.
Survivors include a son, James J. of Huston; a daughter, Donna J. Griffith of San Lula Obispo; four grandchildren; and three great-grandchildren.
Friends may call at Flahiff Funeral Chapel, Caldwell, today, from 3 to 8 p.m. and Sunday from 1 to 8 p.m.
