Watertown- Evelyn M. Augustus, 78, Watertown, passed away April 13 at Samaritan Keep Nursing Home, Watertown.
Evelyn was born April 9, 1935, in the Town of Alexandria, NY, the daughter of Earl and Margaret Paige Weed. She married Richard Augustus, February 16, 1957, Mr. Augustus died in March 1988.
Evelyn worked as a floor supervisor for Watertown Linen Supply and also as a waitress and bartender for many local restaurants.
Evelyn loved to play bingo and to knit. She also loved spending time and playing Nintendo with her grandchildren. She loved to tell jokes and enjoyed playing yahtzee and board games.
Surviving her are two sons, Edward Augustus, Plattsburg, NY, and Robert (Kelly) Augustus, Watertown; a daughter, Diana (Rodney) Dobson, Watertown; 12 Grandchildren; 4 Great-Grandchildren and a few nieces and nephews.
A brother Earl Weed and a grandchild died before her.
Funeral services will be 11:00 AM, Friday April 19, at Cleveland Funeral Home, Inc., Watertown, with Fr. Jonas Tandayou, officiating. Burial will be in the North Watertown at a later date. Calling hours will be Thursday April 18, from 5 – 7 at the Cleveland Funeral Home, Watertown. Arrangements are with Cleveland Funeral Home Inc., Watertown, NY.
