BLAIR, MILDRED RUTH WEIGEL -- 89, formerly of Kingsport, Tennessee, was called home to heaven on Friday, November 8, 2013. She was a member of Colonial Heights Baptist Church where she was very active in the senior program until moving to Georgia in 2006. Mildred was the daughter of the late Jessie and Trula Weigel of the Ramsey community in Knox County, Tennessee. She was preceded in death by her loving husband of 48 years James G. Blair Jr., three brothers, Roy, Hubert and Herschel Weigel, and three sisters, Margaret Cline, Mary Elizabeth Ogle and Jessie Jewell Maxwell. Mildred graduated as a registered nurse from Baptist Hospital in Memphis, Tennessee. She was a devoted and loving wife, and mother of three sons. She was employed by Holston Valley Community Hospital in Kingsport, Tennessee, for over25 years. She began as a floor nurse, and then became a nursing supervisor. She later developed and managed the Employees Health Department until her retirement in 1987. Survivors include a son and daughter-in-law, Stephen and Rebecca Blair of Friendsville, Tennessee, a son and daughter-in-law, Donald and Theresa Blair of Dacula, Georgia, and a son, James G. Blair III of Kingsport, Tennessee; eight grandchildren, Sunshine and Jake Blair of Kingsport, Tennessee, Caitlin Steclw of Lenoir City, Tennessee; Jessa Bradley of Jacksonville, North Carolina, Rachel Poley of Woodstock, Georgia and Sarah Gilmore of Auburn, Georgia, Chelsea and Lindsay Blair of Sevierville, Tennessee; six great grandchildren, Caden Blair and Ryan Blair-Cox of Kingsport, Tennessee, Alex and Gemma Poley of Woodstock, Georgia, Caleb and Jonah Bradley of Jacksonville, North Carolina and Lily Steciw of Lenoir City, Tennessee; several nieces and nephews. The family with receive friends from 12:00 until 2:00 p.m. on Saturday, November 16th, in the J. Wayne Hamilton Memorial Chapel at Oak Hill Funeral Home in Kingsport, Tennessee. Funeral services will follow the viewing in the J. Wayne Hamilton Memorial Chapel at Oak Hill Funeral Home at 2:00 p.m. Committal services will immediately after the funeral services in the Oak Hill Mausoleum adjacent to the Oak Hill Chapel. Memorial contributions may be made to the Alzheimer's Association, East Tennessee Chapter, 2270 Sutherland Avenue, Suite 202, Knoxville, TN 37919 or to Colonial Heights Baptist Church, Kingsport, TN 37663 for their senior outreach program.
