Memorial services will be held Saturday at 2 pm in Copeland Oaks Chapel, Sebring, for Mrs.Verna Bell Porteous, 86, formerly of Warren. She died Wednesday.
A memorial committal service will be at 10 am Monday in Oakwood Cemetery Chapel. There will be no calling hours.
Material tributes may be made to Copeland Oaks, where she had resided for the past 2 years.
Mrs.Porteous was born Dec. 25, 1896, in Harmony, Pa., the daughter of Jacob & Elizabeth Techanty Weigel.
Mrs.Porteous was a member of First United Methodist Church, Order of Eastern Star, Social Order of Beauceant, Women's Club of Chautauqua, NY, & Warren Urban League. She had attended Mount Union College.
She was a former social worker at the Trumbull County Children's Home & a life member of the Salvation Army, where she was on the advisory board for many years. She was also a Gray Lady at Trumbull Memorial Hospital & had served as cookie chairman for the Girl Scouts.
She is survived by her husband, William A.Porteous of Sebring, who was the founder of the W.A.Porteous Insurance Agency here.
