Born in Strasburg Twp., she was the daughter of the late John H. and Rose Link Welk. Evelyn graduated from Strasburg High School with the Class of 1938. She worked as a medical secretary for Dr. Henry Wentz in Strasburg for 24 years and then for Eastbrook Family Health Center, retiring in 1980.
Evelyn was a member of Long Memorial United Methodist Church in Neffsville and a former member of Wesley United Methodist Church in Strasburg. She was active in the United Methodist Women.
Surviving Evelyn are her sons John W. Brown, husband of Carol A. Strausser of Maytown and Richard C. Brown of Pasadena, MD, and her brother Raymond L. Welk of New Holland.
