Lillian M. Baker, 88, entered into God's eternal care on April 18, 2009, at Hanover Hall Nursing Center.
Born on June 15, 1920, in Baltimore, Md., she was a daughter of the late Walter and Ruth Danmyer Welk.
She was a member of Trinity United Church of Christ and AARP. She was active with the Scouts, serving as den mother for the Cub Scouts and girl scout leader for the Girl Scouts. She was very artistic, enjoying both ceramics and painting.
She is survived by her two sons, Richard H. Baker and his wife, Joan and Robert Baker and his wife, Ann; a daughter, Ruth Weaver and her husband, Steve, all of Hanover; nine grandchildren; 21 great-grandchildren; two brothers, John Welk of Maryland, and Nicholas Welk and his wife, Pat of Shrewsbury; two sisters, Mildred Gover of Delta and Rose Nash and her husband, Charles of Towson, Md.; and a number of nieces and nephews.
She was preceded in death by her husband of 37 years, Richard D. Baker, who died in 1976; a grandson, Bobby Baker; a granddaughter, Sarah Lillian Baker; a brother, Walter Welk and a half-sister, Mary Wagner.
Serving as pallbearers will be Daniel Baker, Dwain Baker, Steve Weaver, Jr., Scott Weaver, Nathan Sterner, and Samuel Myers.
Burial will follow in Rest Haven Cemetery.
