BALL, Mrs. Clara Ellen Wells of Columbia, Tennessee passed away Saturday, August 18,2007 in Montgomery, Alabama at the age of 92. Clara was born August 24, 1914 in Mooresville, Tennessee to James Williamson Wells and Lou Inman Wells. As a young woman, she left her farming family with a strong work ethic and a strong faith in God. After graduating from nursing school, she married Felto M. Ball. Together, they traveled during much of their careers leaving each town a bit better from their presence.She appreciated the nursing profession and the knowledge she gained from it. While she enjoyed many aspects of her career, she often admitted that caring for newborns was her favorite task. Clara and Felto spent a number years in Birmingham, Alabama before returning to Columbia, Tennessee to enjoy retirement. Clara and Felto were very active in the First Baptist Church of Columbia. Clara enjoyed serving the church as well as the community it supported. She was extremely proud of her church family and being a part of the Missionary Baptist faith. Her belief in and commitment to the First Baptist Church kept her in Columbia until she returned to Alabama to be closer to family members at age 89....
