Mrs. Emma Anna Mertzweiller of 826 Park avenue, wife of Edward Mertzweiller, died at 12:15 o'clock Thursday morning at St. Elizabeth's Hospital.
Mrs. Mertzweiller was forty-eight years of age and was born Belleville, August 28, 1879 (death record says 1878). She was the daughter of Philip and Mary Werle, and was married to Edward Mertzweiller in Belleville, June 21, 1900.
To this union was born one daughter, Louise Helen, now Mrs. Clarence D. Wagner of 817 Forest Avenue.
Mrs. Mertzweiller was removed to the hospital a week ago, Monday last. She had been ailing for the past five or six weeks, but was not bedfast. The last three days, however, she lay in a state of coma, unable to communicate with her loved ones. In this state she passed away, this morning.
Besides her husband, she leaves to mourn her untimely death;
her aged mother, Mrs. Mary Werle
her daughter, Mrs. Clarence D. Wagner
a grandchild, Richard known as "Dicky" who is just seven months of age
... three sisters and one brother;

Up to one year ago, the Mertzweillers resided in their home at 16 East Lincoln street, having lived there for a period of twelve years. Mrs. Metzweiller who was always of a very sunny nature, made hosts of friends in every neighborhood in which she ever lived, on account of her kindness and sympathetic disposition.
The body of Mrs. Mertzweiller will lie at the Gundlach and Company chapel until 10 o'clock tomorrow morning when it will be removed to their new home at 826 Park avenue, where funeral services will be held at 3 o'clock Saturday afternoon. Interment will take place in the family lot in Walnut Hill Cemetery. Rev. Henry F. Seicer will officiate.
Just six months ago, to the very day of Mrs. Mertzweiller's death, her sister, Miss Lulu Werle, passed away.
