Obituary of Patricia W. Colson
(1944 ~ April 4, 2014)

Gulfport, MS ~ Patricia W. Colson age 70, of Gulfport passed away peacefully on April 4, 2014. She was born in Savannah, GA, and resided in Hattiesburg as a child until her family relocated to Gulfport. She was a resident of Gulfport for the remainder of her life. She was married to Richard L. Colson MD for 30 years. "Patty" was always loving and a devoted wife, mother, sister and friend. In her life time, she was an office manager for Colson Clinic for Women along with her husband. She opened a women's boutique "Delilah Z" in Biloxi, MS. She was a past member of the Gulfport Medical Auxiliary and Gulfport Yacht Club.

Patty and her husband enjoyed being a part of the Le Cavaliers Mardi Gras group. Patty, along with another neighbor, organized the first "Christmas on Keyser Lane" an annual neighborhood progressive dinner enjoyed each year at Christmas time. She loved entertaining her friends and neighbors while cooking "Turkey Gumbo" for the annual "Christmas on the Bayou" boat parade.

She is survived by her daughter, Debby A. LeMasters and son-in-law, Dustin LeMasters; daughter, Patricia Leigh Johnson; brother, and sister-in-law, Joey and Lindy Wheat of Savannah, GA; sister and brother-in-law, Rebecca and Carl McLarand of Newport Beach, CA, grandsons, Hamilton McCarthy and Cole Catalanotto; granddaughter, Sethany LeMasters, and many nieces and nephews.

She was preceded in death by her parents, Delilah and H.W. Wheat; her husband, Richard L. Colson MD; her sister, Suzanne Kelly and her brother-in-law, James Ray Kelly and nephew, Guy Thomas Kimbell. She will be sadly missed by many friends and family.

A Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated on Friday, April 11, 2014, at 2pm at St. John Catholic Church in Gulfport, where family and friends may visit one hour prior to the service. A private burial will be held.

The family requests that memorial contributions be made to the Humane Society of South MS, 2615 25th Avenue, Gulfport, MS 39501.

Riemann Family Funeral Home, 11280 Three Rivers Road in Gulfport, served the family.
