MRS. ERNESTINE WHITAKER THORN, 63, of Memphis, former 14- year lower school teacher at Hutchison School, died Monday at Baptist Memorial Hospital East. Services will be at 3 p.m. Wednesday at Second Presbyterian Church, where she was a member, with burial in Memorial Park. Memorial Park Funeral Home has charge. She was a member of Josephine Circle, Peace Circle of King's Daughter's, Duration Club and a graduate of Rhodes College, formerly Southwestern at Memphis. She leaves her husband, Doss Eugene Thorn; two daughters, Mrs. Valerie Jones of Memphis and Mrs. Velma Cunningham of Austin, Texas; her mother, Mrs. Norma Whitaker of Memphis, and five grandchildren.
