Mrs. Ann Dill Whitaker, graduate nurse and wife of John W. Whitaker, operator of the Standard Oil Co. service station at 1003 South Bellevue, died yesterday morning at 10:25 at Baptist hospital following an illness of two months. Born in Eupora, MS, Mrs. Whitaker moved to Memphis 15 years ago. She was graduated from the Baptist Hospital School of Nursing and practiced privately and as a member of the hospital staff until about 10 months ago. She lived at 737 Inez. In addition to her husband, she leaves her infant daughter, Ann Walker Whitaker; two stepsons, Theodore and Johnnie Whitaker, both with the Navy in the Pacific; her parents, Mr. and Mrs. Ellis Dill of Eupora; two brothers, Pfc. Otha Dill with the Army in Germany and J.P. Dill of Memphis, and two sisters, Mrs. Martha D. Henley and Mrs. C.M. Journey, both of Memphis. (Published in The Commercial Appeal Sunday, May 13, 1945)
