Lilah May Beaton, nee Whitaker, 88, of Paducah, Ky., formerly of Cahokia, Ill., born Feb. 20, 1916, in Paducah, Ky., died Sunday, April 11, 2004, at Western Baptist Hospital, Paducah, Ky. Mrs. Beaton was a member of Holy Family Catholic Church, Moose Lodge 423, American Legion Post 784, and the Cahokia Democratic Club, all of Cahokia, Ill. She was preceded in death by her husband, James Beaton; and her parents, Clarence and Laura, nee Lockett, Whitaker. Surviving are a brother, Harry (Betty) Matheny of Paducah, Ky.; a sister, Ruth Colson of Paducah, Ky.; a nephew, Jimmy Ray Beaton of Cahokia, Ill.; a niece, Brenda Collins of Portland, Maine; and several nieces and nephews. Visitation: There will be no visitation. Funeral: Graveside service will be held at 1 p.m. Wednesday, April 14, 2004, at McRae Chapel Cemetery, Big Sandy, Tenn.
