Marjorie Jean "Midge" Aber, 78, of Swamp Road, Smithfield, died Saturday, Oct. 14, 2006, in Crouse Hospital, Syracuse, following a short illness. Marjorie (Midge) was born Aug. 5, 1928, in Genoa, the daughter of Henry and Laura Close Wilbur. She was a former resident of Cazenovia and had lived in Smithfield the past 37 years. She and her late husband, Albert G. "Pat" Aber, operated a farm, "Aberdale Holsteins," together in Smithfield. She was a member of the Holstein Association of NY and the Madison County Farm Bureau. Midge was predeceased by her husband, "Pat," on Jan. 2, 2006; and one sister, Gladys Spiero. She is survived by three children, Ted Aber of Morrisville, Douglas Aber of Cocoa, Fla. and Betty Jo (Robert) Schelah of Greer, S.C.; five grandchildren; three great-grandchildren; sisters-in-law, Dorothea Montgomery of Syracuse, Ruth Wilson of Dade City, Fla. and Isabella Carter of Cortland; brothers-in-law, Philip (Bert) Aber of Locke and Larry Spiero of Port Charlotte, Fla.; and several nieces and nephews. A graveside service will be held 1 p.m. Thursday, Oct. 19, in Sand Hill Cemetery, Town of Sempronius There are no calling hours. Friends wishing to may send memorial contributions to the Smithfield-Eaton Volunteer Ambulance Corps (SEVAC) or Madison County Office of the Aging.
