Margaret W. Diehl, 101, formerly of 2407 Wayne Ave. [Iowa City], died Saturday in Beverly Manor Convalescent Center following a long illness.
Born Dec 7, 1885, in Jonesboro, Tenn., she was married to Edward J. Diehl in 1904 in Jonesboro. Mr. Diehl died in 1955.
Mrs. Diehl was a housekeeper for several University of Iowa fraternities, retiring in 1955. She was a member of First United Methodist Church.
Survivors include a son, Wayne of Long Beach, Calif.; three grandchildren, eight great-grandchildren; 14 great-great-grandchildren.
Graveside services were held Tuesday at Oakland Cemetery. Callahan’s was in charge of arrangements.
