IOWA CITY - Beulah H. Williams, 72, of Marengo, died on Saturday, July 16, 1994 at her home of a lengthy illness. She was born Dec. 2, 1921 in Leighton, the daughter of J. Virgil Hays and Edna Bartlema. She married Lloyd R. Williams on Dec. 24, 1956 in Montezuma. They then moved to the Conroy area where they had lived for many years. She taught in various schools for more than 30 years, and she graduated from the University of Iowa was a bachelors degree in elementary education and special education in 1974. She also enjoyed reading the Bible, fellowship meetings, writing and gardening.

Survivors include her husband, Lloyd R. Williams of Marengo; a daughter and her husband, Nancy and Greg Landuyt of Greenfield, Ind.; a son and his wife, Daniel and Diana Williams of Marengo; a sister, Florence Johnson of Oskaloosa; a brother, Howard Hays of Beaverton, Ore.; his step-mother, Mattie Hays of Knoxville; and four grandchildren. She was preceded in death by her parents and a son, Delbert Williams.

Funeral services will be held Tuesday, July 19 at 11 a.m. at the George L. Gay Funeral Home, Iowa City. Officiating will be Dale Spencer and Vernon Spinner. Burial will be in the Memory Gardens Cemetery in Iowa City. Memorials may be made to Hospice of Williamsburg or the American Cancer Society.
