Mrs. Blanche L. Fleming, 77, a former Iowa City resident, died Tuesday at a hospital in Kansas City, Mo, where she lived. Funeral services will be Friday at the Donohue Mortuary. Burial will be in Memory Gardens.
Mrs. Fleming was born in Adams County, Ohio, the daughter of William and Bertha Nitchels [sic] Williams. She came to Iowa City as a young girl.
She married Edward A. Fleming, April 11, 1913, at Iowa City.
For many years, the young couple owned and operated the Fleming Nursing Home in Coralville. They moved to Corpus Christi, Tex., in 1966, to live with their daughter, Mrs. Viola M. Cartwright, and later moved to Kansas City.
Surviving are her husband; a son, Everett of Raytown, Mo.; Mrs. Cartwright; two brothers, Charles and Leo Smith, both of Arizona; and three grandchildren and seven great-grandchildren.
Two brothers died earlier.
