Lois Ahrens, 94, of Fort Dodge passed away on Wednesday January 7, 2015 at the Villa Care Center. The funeral service will be held at 10:30 a.m. on Tuesday January 13, 2015 at St. Paul Lutheran Church with Pastor Al Henderson officiating. Burial will follow at North Lawn Cemetery. The Visitation will be held from 9:30 – 10:30 a.m. prior to the service on Tuesday at St. Paul Lutheran Church. Arrangements have been entrusted with Gunderson Funeral Home & Cremation Services.

Lois was born in Fort Dodge on March 13, 1920 to Elmer and Lydia (Kehm) Williams. She grew up in Fort Dodge and graduated from Fort Dodge Senior High in 1938. She was united in marriage to Richard Ahrens on April 25, 1943. She was a lifetime member of St. Paul Lutheran Church and a former member of the Elks Club and the Country Club. She was the chairperson of the reunion committee for the class of 1938 until recent years. She worked as the window decorator at the Boston Store for many years; she also worked at Decorators Workshop and Becker Florist. She always loved spending time with her family.

Lois is survived by her children Jim (Sandy) Ahrens of Reno, NV and Julianne (Van) Blount of Glenwood, IA; her grandchildren Kimberly, Melissa and Tiffany Ahrens of Reno, NV and Christopher and Jessica Chardoulias of Glenwood, IA; her great-grandchildren Faith, James and Matthew of Reno, NV; her siblings Marilyn Hess and Judy Jeffries of Cathedral City, CA, Robert Williams of Wichita, KS and Bill Williams of Janesville, WI, and several nieces, nephews and extended family members. She was preceded in death by her husband Richard, her parents Elmer and Lydia and her sister Shirley Fitzgerald.
