PARK RAPIDS, Minn. - Doris "Dodie" J. Williams, 84, of Park Rapids, MN died on Tues, September 13, 2011 at the Oak Crossing at St. Mary's Regional Health Center in Detroit Lakes, MN.

Doris Joan Ness was born on November 10, 1926 in Webster City, Iowa the daughter of Henry and Bertha (Jacobson) Ness. She grew up near Duncombe, Iowa where she attended the local country school. When she was 14 she moved into Duncombe to attend high school, graduating in 1944. She was united in marriage to Theodore "J." Williams on November 20, 1947. In 1952 they moved to Garden City, California. Doris was employed as a waitress for the Quaker Gardens Retirement Community in Stanton, California for over 20 years. Following their retirement, they moved to Park Rapids, MN in 1987, where she has resided since.

She is survived by her 2 children Christine (Eldon) Hanfelt of Park Rapids, MN; and Scott Williams of Tower, MN; 1 grandson Richard (Susan) Payne of Nacogdoches, Texas; 1 grand daughter Tracey (Chuck) Simons of Elgin, Texas; 4 great grandsons; 1 great granddaughter; and 1 great-great granddaughter.

She was preceded in death by her parents-Henry and Bertha (Jacobson) Ness; her husband Theodore "T." Williams; her 7 Ness brothers Roland, Thomas"Bill", Clare, Emmett, Myron, Carl, Raymon "Pete", and Harley.

Memorial Services will be held on Saturday, October 1, 2011 at 11:00 AM at the Washington Lutheran Church in Duncombe, Iowa. Pastor Susan Stone will be the officiant. A luncheon will be served in the church fellowship hall following the services. Inurnment will be held at the Fort Dodge Memorial Park in Fort Dodge, Iowa.
