On Sunday forenoon Mr. and Mrs. S. P. Wiman received the sad intelligence by wire that their daughter, Mrs. J. S. Newcomb, had died suddenly that morning at her home at Sprague. But a few hours previous the bereaved parents had received a telegram stating that Mrs. Newcomb was seriously ill, and Mrs. Wiman was preparing to go to her daughter's bedside when news of her death was received. The exact cause of death is not known and will not be until today when Dr. Newcomb arrives here with the remains of his wife.

Elizabeth Wiman, more familiarly called Dot by her family and friends, was born in Ontario, Canada, 31 years ago, 23 years of her life having been spent in this city, where she attended school and was a universal favorite with all who knew her. In 1892 she was wedded to Dr. J. S. Newcomb and their married life was a happy one.

One child, a daughter, Charlotte, 8 years of age, survives. Deceased was a member of the Methodist church and affiliated with the Rebekah and Eastern Star lodges. While Mrs. Newcomb was never strong she was far from being an invalid, and her sudden death was therefore a great shock to her parents and friends. The funeral arrangements have not yet been made.
