Abbott, Jimmie Lee - Jimmie Abbott peacefully entered eternity on March 15, 2011.

She is survived by her husband, Dan E. Abbott; sons, Greg Abbott and wife Priscilla of Plano, Mark Abbott and wife Vicki of Richardson; daughter, Jan Brown and husband Marty of Oklahoma City; granddaughters, Jill Hailey and husband Rob of Los Colinas, Stephanie Abbott of Plano, Amy Carlson and husband Chad of Little Rock, Katy Brown of Oklahoma City; grandson, Jason Brown and wife Autumn of Oklahoma City; great grandsons, Joseph, Ryder, and Jaxon; great granddaughters, Ziva, Eden, and Julia; and sister, Eloise Moore and her sons, Phil and Mike Moore.

Jimmie was born in Electra, TX on October 5, 1924 to loving parents, James Thomas Wofford and Julia Howerton Wofford. When her father passed away, her mother married S.W. Bailey of Vernon, TX. Some of her fondest memories were of growing up in Vernon.

She graduated from Vernon High School with highest honors and attended Christian College in Columbia, Missouri, and then transferred to The University of Texas because of a very special man in her life that she later married March 19, 1944, a relationship that lasted 67 years. After, WW II, Dan & Jimmie moved to Dallas. They were very active in Preston Hollow Methodist Church where she was president of the Woman's Society. In recent years they were charter members of Hillcrest Church where they served as Senior Lay Leaders. They took great delight in their Sunday school class and have many friends that they love in the church.

A memorial service will be held on Tuesday March 22, 2011 at 12 pm at Restland Memorial Chapel. In lieu of flowers, donations can be made to Tell My People, PO Box 533727, Harlingen, TX 78553.
