Gaffney, SC - - Catherine Louise Wofford Davis, 91, formerly of 305 Pleasant Meadows Drive, went home to be with the Lord on Wednesday, December 15, 2010 at Falls Creek Living Center in Marietta, SC. Born in Gaffney, she was the widow of the late Clarence Marshall Davis, Sr. and daughter of the late William Smith Wofford and Hattie Peeler Wofford. Mrs. Davis was a graduate of Hickory Grove High School and was previously employed in the textiles industry, Belks and Quik as a Wink Drycleaners. She was a member of First Baptist Church. Surviving are two sons, Marshall Davis, Jr. and wife, Carol Ann of Charlotte, NC and Wayne Davis and wife, Jackie of Greer; a brother, Homer Wofford and wife, Gladys of Columbia; a sister, Ruby Painter of Pickens; three grandchildren, Jason Davis, Chet Davis and wife, LeAnne and Jeff Davis, all of Greer; six great-grandchildren. The family will receive friends from 10:00 until 11:00 AM on Saturday, December 18, 2010 at Blakely Funeral Home. Graveside services will immediately follow at 11:00 AM at Frederick Memorial Gardens with Dr. M. B. Morrow, Jr. and Rev. Joel Sellers officiating. In lieu of flowers, memorials may be made to Meals on Wheels, P.O. Box 1886, Gaffney, SC 29342 or Senior Centers of Cherokee County, 499 W. Rutledge Avenue, Gaffney, SC 29340.
