Don D. Wolcott, 82, formerly of Sioux City passed away Fri. 3 Aug. 2007, following a brief illness.
A prayer service will be 10 a.m. Wed. at St. Elizabeth Ann Seton Catholic Church in Plano, Texas. Arrangements are under the direction of Allen Family Funeral Operations in Plano.
Don was born 3 June 1925, in Lakota, Iowa, the youngest child of Lawrence & Ethel Wolcott. He joined the U.S. Navy in 1942 & served his country for 4 years in the Naval Special Forces.
He married Shirley Joern on 27 July 1946, in Owatonna, Minn. He spent his entire career working in the animal by-products industry.
His goal each day was to do a good deed & to make someone smile. He had a zest for life & love of family & friends. He will be greatly missed.
He is survived by his 5 children, Barbara Hauser & her husband, Ronaldo of Miami, Fla., Judy Cass & her husband, Gary of Yuma, Ariz., Sharon Hirsch & her husband, Jim of Plano, Texas, Pamela Wolcott of Minneapolis, Minn. & Robert of Boston, Mass.; & grandchildren, Lisa Sultz & her husband, Brad, Andrea Hauser, Kristin Cass, Aaron, Stephanie, Andrew & Alex Hirsch; a great-grandson, Max Sultz; & a sister, Maxine Harvey.
He was preceded in death by his wife of 56 years, Shirley; his parents; 6 brothers & 3 sisters.
