Ella "Jane" Spicer, 89, of Route 17 C, Waverly, N.Y., passed away Wednesday morning, July 31, 2013, at her home following declining health.

"Jane" as she was known by her family and friends was born in Sayre, Pa., on December 21, 1923, the only child of Lyman and Lillian McCraney Wolcott.

She was a graduate of Sayre High School class of 1941. On April 14, 1941 she married Clarence "Lynn" Spicer. In early years Jane was employed by the Lewis Garage in Sayre and later worked in the office of her father's plumbing and heating business, Spicer & Wolcott in Sayre for a number of years.

In 1960, Lynn and Jane started their business Charm Pools in Waverly, N.Y., which continues to present.

Jane was a member of the Loyal Order of Moose Women's Group in Waverly. She enjoyed sewing, traveling and attending horse shows.

Surviving are her children, Kay Onofre, Linda Spicer and Richard Spicer all of Waverly; grandchildren, Stacy Onofre of Waverly, Tami Spicer of Dallas, Texas, and Wade Spicer of Northumberland, Pa.

In addition to her parents she was preceded in death by her husband, Clarence "Lynn" Spicer and son-in-law, Richard "Rich" Onofre.

A private funeral service will be held at the convenience of the family. There are no calling hours. Contributions may be directed to the Stray Haven Humane Society, 194 Shepard Road, Waverly, NY 14892 in Ella Jane Spicer's memory.
