MONTEREY - Jane Leutzinger, 93, was born in Berkeley, CA, to John A. and Beatrice Wolcott. Jane attended elementary school in Berkeley. She moved with her parents to Los Angeles, where she attended Los Angeles High School, graduating in 1933.

In 1934, Jane married George Henry Leutzinger, whom she had known since childhood. Jane and George had three children, with Jane enjoying her life as a homemaker, living most of the time on the Monterey Peninsula, beginning in 1948. Some of Jane's interests included school activities of her children, Monterey History and Art Association, Children's Home Society, Girl Scouts; she was a 72-year member of P.E.O. and spent much of her time doing knitting and needlepoint. In her later years, many of the afghans she knit were donated to The American Red Cross.

Most of all Jane and George liked to travel and move after his retirement from Cannery Row Properties Company. Jane's family is not sure of the number of moves that were made.

Jane and George were married for 54 years until George's death in 1987. Jane is survived by her children, Richard Leutzinger (Margaret), MaryJane Buddenberg(Rex), and Tom Leutzinger (Kenna); and grandchildren, Lucien and Rosie Leutzinger, Jennifer Buddenberg, David Leutzinger, Chris Long (Rhonda); and great grandchildren, Conner and Sophie Long. Jane also has six surviving nieces.

A big thank you to Cindy B. Lee, M.D., who took care of our Mom for many years, and also many thanks to everyone at Carmelo Park Assisted Care Facility, who took care of Mom for the past seven years. She has always been cared for with dignity and respect. A private service will be held at a later date. In lieu of flowers, the family asks that any memorial contributions be sent to Heartland Hospice in Monterey or the American Heart and Stroke Association.
