Uriel Burr was close to Milo in age, ability, and influence, and yet he does not stand out in history as much as does Milo. I have never seen a portrait of Uriel. He inherited his father Reuben Burr's house and land east of the Still River basically between Hayden Hill Road and Greenwoods Road in 1827.
In the latter half of his life, Uriel lived at what is now 52 Hayden Hill Road, while his son Uri Curtiss Burr took over the old family house.
Around 1920, Clarence Nickerson bought Uriel's property and lived at 52 Hayden Hill Road for many years. Nickerson removed the early Reuben Burr house to Norfolk in the 1930s and planned to develop on Hayden Hill, Pluck Hill Estates, but was undone by the economy of the times. The construction company Nickerson founded still occupies the western tip of Uriel's land.
Esther Curtiss Burr was the heir to the Uri Curtiss's farm in Torringford at the corner of Torrington Street and Gaylord Lane which she passed on to her son Lucius. Fanny Burr who never married lived at various times with her sister Eliza Burr Humphrey or with her brothers.
