LEXINGTON - Funeral services for Agnes Renee Wright, 79, of Lexington, will be held at 10 a.m., Monday, February 13, 2012 at the Chapel of Thompson Funeral Home of Lexington. Officiating will be Rev. Theodore Bradshaw and Rev. Donald Bradshaw. Burial will follow in Crescent Hill Memorial Gardens. The family will receive friends from 6-8 p.m. Sunday evening at the funeral home.
Mrs. Wright, widow of Robert Eugene Wright, (retired Vietman Veteran), passed away on Friday, February 10, 2012. Born in Grimesland County, NC, she was the daughter of the late William Harvey Sutton and Thelma Mae Real Sutton. She was a member of Calvary Pentecostal Church in Greenville, NC. She was the Valedictorian at Grimesland High School and lead basketball player. She dedicated her time as a volunteer with Meals on Wheels, the Red Cross and the Salvation Army; she won the Bronze Leader Award from DAV Volunteers. She was a member of Gilbert & Tri-County Senior Adult Groups. She retired as a manager from Young's Food Store.
Surviving are her daughters, Glenda Browder (Jerry) of Gilbert, SC, Carolyn Renee Chambers (Stephen) of Lexington, SC and Deborah Jones (Roderick) of Portsmouth, VA; son, Charles Wright (Vickie) of West Columbia, SC; 15 grandchildren and 9 great-grandchildren; sister, Winnie Bradshaw of Greenville, NC. She was preceded in death by two sons, Gene and Mitchell Wright and a brother, John Harvey Sutton.
In lieu of flowers, memorials may be made to First Calvary Baptist Church Food Pantry, 2320 Cedar Grove Road, Leesville, SC 29070.
