Ellen Marie Young was born in Parma, MO in an agricultural area to parents Loren Pride and Alice (Thompson) Young. She married Kelsey Crackel of Crawleyville, IN and later Los Angeles California in Arkansas. When she passed away, she left surviving five out of six children: Bonnie F. (Crackel) Halford and her husband Edd, Starlene (Crackel) Johnson, Garland R. Crackel and his wife Carlota (Gomez), Yvonne R. (Crackel) Johnson and deceased former husband Robert Johnson, and Lyndon D. Crackel. She was predeceased by her son Wayland W. Crackel who died in December 1976. Ellen had seven grandchildren, Roberto Crackel and his sister Tanya (Crackel) Rayfield (children of Garland Crackel), Marie (Halford) Fields and her brother Jonathon Halford (children of Bonnie (Crackel) Halford, and David Johnson, Larry Johnson, and Kimberly Johnson (children of Yvonne (Crackel) Johnson. Additionally Ellen had five great-grandchildren. Ellen had one sister Goldie June (Young) Eakens who predeceased her in Parma, Missouri. Ellen left had two nephews Calvin Eakens, Kenny Eakens, and niece Kathy (Eakens) Hughes. She had numerous great-nephews and nieces and great-grand nephews. Ellen and her mother Alice Young practiced their Christian beliefs in their neighborhood of Canalou and later near Riddle Hill above Malden, MO. She lived a long Christian life, inspired many people, and in the latter part of her life attended Lily of the Valley church in Monrovia, California for many years. She was loved by many and will be missed.
