Sadie Pauline Clabaugh, youngest of ten children, was born to James and Catherine Young on April 24, 1907 at Burchard, Nebraska and departed this life February 3, 1970 at her home south of Laird, Colorado at the age of 62 years, 9 months, and 9 days.
When a young girl, she moved with her parents to Nora, Nebraska and later to Nelson, Nebraska where she graduated from Nelson High School with the class of 1924.
On February 28, 1928, she was united in marriage to Arza Elbra Clabaugh. To this union seven children were born. For the past twenty years they resided on their farm south of Laird, Colorado.
Pauline Clabaugh was a member of the United Methodist Church of Laird and an active member of the Women's Society of Christian Service.
She leaves in mourning her husband, Elbra; her seven children, Mrs. Lawrence (Nadine) Frakes - Trenton, Nebraska; T/Sgt. Arthur E. Clabaugh - U.S. Air Force stationed in the Panama Canal Zone; Robert L. Clabaugh - Hastings, Nebraska; Leonard G. Clabaugh - Commerce City, Colorado; Mrs. Elmer (Eleanor) Ethridge - Laird, Colorado; Mrs. Richard (Lila) Tombaugh - Colorado Springs, Colorado; and Sp/1st Class Rex R. Clabaugh - U.S. Army stationed at Ft. Story, Virginia; three sisters. Mrs. Cora Goodrich - Nelson, Nebraska; Mrs. Marie Madsen - Superior, Nebraska and Mrs. Olive Biltoft - Ruskin, Nebraska; 16 grandchildren, many nieces and nephews and other relatives and friends.
