Mrs. McCarthy was a communicant of St. Joseph's Church, Ansonia. She enjoyed gardening and playing bingo. She also was a member of the Ansonia Senior Center.
Survivors include her son, John D. Jr. of Ansonia; a sister, Wanda Lauderowicz of Ansonia; and several nieces, nephews, and friends.
She was predeceased by a brother, Stanley Zuk; and a sister, Jean Urashka.
