Archibald Thomas "Archie" Campbell
Birth: Jun. 13, 1856
Atlanta
Fulton County
Georgia, USA
Death: Mar. 6, 1913
Alex
Grady County
Oklahoma, USA

Archibald was my Great-Grandfather.

He was the third of six children born to Enos Mitchell CAMPBELL and Matilda Tabitha HILL Campbell.

He was married to Lucinda Bellzora BRASHEARS (1863-1891).

Together they had four children:

Annie Belle (1882-1962)
Minnie Lee Lucy
James Martin
William Mitchell (1889-1889)

After their fourth child was born Lucinda contracted blood poisoning and died at the age of 28.

Archie's second marriage was to Rachael "Ma" BARNES (1874-?) in 1893. They had no children together.

Archibald resided in Georgia until the age of 14 when his family moved to Texas. In Texas he operated a cattle ranch, until he moved to Oklahoma in 1888. He spent the last six years of his life in Alex, Oklahoma where he served as Constable for one term. Archibald was a member of the Masonic Order.

Cause of death: stomach cancer.

No stone has been found for Archie Campbell in the Alex Cemetery. From his death date, he would most likely be buried in Section 2 South or Section 3 South which are the oldest sections of the original Morris Cemetery area of the Alex Cemetery.
