Eddie J. Emison, 71, died early Sunday, Feb. 11, 2007, at his residence.

He was born in Caraway on Dec. 8, 1935, and had lived in Jonesboro 26 years.

He retired after 30 years with the E.C. Barton Company as a builders material buyer. He was a former member of the Caraway Lions Club, Park Commission and Caraway High School Board president. He also coached youth baseball in Caraway and Valley View.

After his retirement he started a home improvement business in Mountain Home. He was a member of Community of Christ Church.

He was preceded in death by his father, William Ray Emison.

He is survived by his wife, Norma Emison; two daughters, Kelly Benson and her husband Dallas of Jonesboro, and Karen Wallace and her husband Mike of Monette; his mother, Annette Emison of Caraway; two brothers, Larry Emison of Jonesboro and Ben Emison of Weatherford, Texas; three grandchildren, Kyle Priest and his wife Jennifer of Little Rock, Bradley Wallace and Kimberly Wallace, both of Jonesboro.

Burial was in Jonesboro Memorial Park Cemetery under the directions of Gregg Funeral Home.

Honored to serve as active pallbearers were: Jared Seeman, Chris Jennings, Tave Baker, John Sawyer III, Jerry Halsey Jr. and Rodney Primm.

And as honorary pallbearers: Ray Cox, Larry Fisackerly, Ted Thomas, Harvey Faulkner, Jerry Qualls, Paul Thompson, Thurman Nuckles, Al Morris, George Gipson, Don Dumond, Tony Stubblefield, Jeremy Duncan, Mack Franks, Doyle Gilliam, Allen Nixon, David Ozier, Wade Carpenter, Doyle Roach, Harold Bouland, Don Vineyard, John Sass, Denny Neeley, Tony Futrell, Vanessa Caldwell, Gail Riley, Julie Deathridge, Wanda Cothern, the Men's Group of Community of Christ Church and members of the Caraway Senior Class of 1953.
