Steve attended Polytechnic High School in North Hollywood and graduated. He met and married Cindy Frantz on December 22, 1979 in Las Vegas. She was the love of his life. They had the following children: Debbie Fraley, Jeffery Fraley and Timothy Fraley. Timothy was only 2 months old when his daddy passed away. Steve was only 32.

Steve loved the Los Angeles Lakers. He was watching the championship when he had a heart seizure. He ended up in a coma and never came out.
